Chantal Porras & Marc Dailly

This exhibition brings together Marc Dailly and Chantal Porras in a dialogue between two artistic sensibilities expressed through different mediums. Painting and sculpture meet within the gallery, offering distinct ways of looking at the world, its atmospheres and its presence.

In Marc Dailly’s oil paintings on hardboard, scenes of everyday life and intimate moments hold a central place. The city, landscapes and Lyon itself become subjects for observation and contemplation. Through light, colour and texture, his works invite us to linger on simple moments and discover the emotion and quiet poetry they can contain.

Chantal Porras’s bronze sculptures offer another perspective on the living world. Her work focuses primarily on animals, with particular attention to endangered species. Through the presence of volume and the precision of her modelling, each sculpture reveals an animal in its own singularity, balancing strength, fragility and movement.

The dialogue between the two artists emerges precisely from these differences. The colours and atmospheres of Dailly’s paintings meet the volume and density of Porras’s bronze sculptures. Scenes of human and urban life stand alongside animal figures, creating an exhibition shaped by observation, emotion and poetry.

The opening reception will take place on Saturday, September 19, in the presence of both artists, with the gallery exceptionally open on Sunday, September 20. On Saturday, October 3, Chantal Porras will also present a live modelling demonstration, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

From September 19 to November 14, Galerie Estades Lyon invites you to discover these two artistic worlds and experience, in the presence of the original works, this dialogue between painting and sculpture.
